To whom it concerns,

I am happy to provide this open reference for Kate Reynolds who has been employed at The International School of Azerbaijan as an Art Teacher from August 1, 2006 to present time.

TISA is an independent school for children from 3-18 years old. It is fully accreditted by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is authorized to offer all three programmes of the IBO (PYP, MYP. DP). The school is located in a new and purpose built facility which includes a full range of high quality leaching and specialist rooms all of which are well-equipped.

The population of the school is diverse and over 45 nationalities are represented. Teachers are well-qualified and seventeen nationalities are represented in the faculty. Students typically move on to universities and colleges overseas after graduation.

Kate Reynolds is no ordinary art teacher. Able to transcend the constraints of scheduling and course requirements she has single-handedly totally transformed the fine arts environment at TISA. The art room is a creative powerhouse never empty from morning till evening. There are always students in the room - engaged and involved. The corridors and display spaces in our new buildings are lit up with drawings, paintings, pottery and sculptures of high quality and style. Our parent community is excited and delighted by the achievements of children with hither to unexplored talent.

Most importantly, perhaps, our students think about 'art', the challenges it brings and the creative outlets it offers, in a much more positive way than would have seemed possible only a few short years ago.

In short, Kate has been a powerful and successful catalyst who has created a first class, dynamic fine arts programme in a growing school with high standards and expectations.

I commend her most highly and without reservation as a dedicated and inspired artist who, luckily for us, also happens to be a dedicated and inspired teacher as well. The rarest of combinations and one to be treasured.

I would be happy to answer any further questions on her behalf.

Sincerely Yours, Peter Harding, Director
